MACRO RESPONSIBILITIES
· Oversee the running of the Daycare programme · Policy writing and implementation · Programme Development and Implementation · Promote Jewish culture and learning. Celebrate important Jewish festivals · Management of daycare staff (CYCW’s, Homework Teachers, Volunteers) · Maintenance and control of property and equipment · Draw up and manage annual budget for the programme DAYCARE RESPONSIBILITIES · Admission & Orientation of children into the program · Liaison with social workers, case conferences with social workers and parents · Behaviour management in conjunction with cycw’s · Arrange holiday programmes with Daycare team · Implement and manage routines · Manage homework routine to ensure that each child receives support. Assign volunteers specific homework tasks and children · Organise fun days and special events · Compile and implement IDP’s for each child together with the social workers, families and cycw’s · Review IDPs every 6 months ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES · Provide written monthly feedback on each child to the social workers · Immediate communication with social workers regarding any issues or concerns · Keep records and process notes as required RESIDENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES · Ensure that residents are complying with homework and studying requirements · Regular contact with schools regarding homework and projects of children · Manage stationery and textbook stores · Ordering and distribution of all stationery and textbooks for the next year · Collection of used textbooks from children · All residential matters regarding education will be managed in conjunction with the residential social worker · Manage and update files on chevnet SUPERVISION AND TRAINING · Attend in-service training as and when offered by chev · Group supervision with daycare team · Individual consultations with cycw’s · Attend Team meetings · Attend leadership opportunities offered by the chev |
Matric
Degree in Education or Social work OR Proven experience in management of child related programmes or Centre for children Registration with relevant professional bodies |
