Donor Relationship Manager – Business Development

Location: Johannesburg

Purpose of the Job

To proactively search for new leads to grow the donor base and cultivate relationships with new donors.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Developing a pipeline of donors in specific, identified community sectors
  • Hunting new leads in identified community sectors
  • Proactively engaging donors to entrench a sustainable relationship
  • Converting new leads into donors
  • Managing, maintaining and growing a database of donors
  • Working in collaboration with other RMs and allied teams on fundraising initiatives
  • Translating strategic growth opportunities into projects for fundraising
  • Being an ambassador of the organisation to the community
  • Generating new leads and signing up new donors
  • Relationship building and fundraising with donors
  • Managing budgets and cash flow
  • Meeting targets and scenario planning
  • Initiating and participating in fundraising initiatives

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ working experience
  • Degree or qualification preferable
  • Experience in sales, customer services, communication, events advantageous
  • Target-driven performance experience an advantage
