The educational and counselling psychologist will form a part of the multi-disciplinary team at Arcadia and Jewish Community Services (JCS). The purpose of the psychologist will be to provide therapeutic support to clients of Arcadia and JCS including and conducting psycho-educational, subject and career assessments, individual therapy and family therapy. The incumbents will consult with therapeutic staff across the organization as required as well as assist HR with EAP sessions as and if required.

Assessments · Full Psychoeducational Assessments · Career assessments and career counselling · Subject choice assessments · School readiness assessments Therapy · Individual therapy with children, teenagers, young adults and adults · Play therapy · Family therapy · Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy · Group Work Multidisciplinary Team · The psychologist would work in collaboration with social workers from the Chev Community Social Services as well as social workers and child an youth care workers from Arcadia. He/ she will participate in case conferences, family meetings, the development of individual development plans · To assist with EAP sessions for staff of the organization for the Human Resources Department · Consult with all therapeutic staff across the Chev group as is required for clients, beneficiaries and residents Administration · Report writing · Assessment reports · Computer literacy · Maintain recordings of interactions with clients, beneficiaries and residents · Maintain statistics Miscellaneous · Attend team meetings as required · Attend consultation with the Brenda Lasersohn monthly and supervisors nominated by the organization · Meet with stakeholders and relevant professionals internal and external to the organization as it pertains to the client, beneficiary or residents needs · Conduct school liaison duties . · Matric
· Masters Degree in Psychology · Registered with HPCSA · 5-10 years’ experience in a similar role |
· Ability to work with a wide range of challenges experienced by persons of all ages, predominately children and parents
