Financial Manager

Location: Sandringham, Johannesburg
Position Type: Fixed-Term Contract- Full Time Hours

Purpose of the Job

The Financial Manager will be responsible for execution of the costing project, risk management and policy implementation, and for delivery and oversight of various accounting and GL functions.

Role and Responsibilities


  1. Financial Management
  • Manage and support the general ledger team.
  • Maintain financial policies and procedures that are already in place around GL monthly processing.
  • Review monthly GL recons.
  • Manage the project accounting process
  • Review and release expense payments
  • Review and submission of monthly VAT returns.
  1. Costing Project:
  • Complete complex costing project across the group involving allocation of central costs to specific services, costing services, and implementing pricing structures
  1. Risk Management:
  • Develop DR and BC plan for insurance and operational purposes
  • Assist in developing and implementing risk management policies and protocols
  • Manage the organisation’s insurance portfolio, policies and relationships
  • Monitor and report on high-level risk exposure and mitigating controls and measures.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • CA(SA), BCom Hons (Accounting) or similar
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial management
  • Risk management experience

Preferred Skills

  • Risk management experience
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and cost management.
  • Proficiency in financial modelling.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment and ability to lead a small team
  • Proficient in MS Office suite.
